Fox News: Vast Collection of Titanic Artifacts Heads to Auction

I honestly had some mixed feelings when I read about the artifacts being auctioned off. On one hand it is sad that so many people lost their lives when the Titanic ran into the iceberg and on the other hand I am excited that so many items have been recovered and preserved.

Auctioning them off however is almost like watching the Titanic go down for the second time. The items will end up scattered all over the map and even though the proud owners will be able to claim they have a piece of this famous vessel in their possession, it isn't as impressive as having and seeing the entire collection.

I certainly wished the entire collection would exchange hands and remain together. My heart sinks when I think about the artifacts being broken up, but there is nothing that can be done about it; it is all in the present owner's hands. I sure hope he will not regret it later.

He would be stuck with a sinking feeling!
