CBS: Obama: Health Mandate Not a Tax Increase
That's right; it is not a tax increase by any means. It is a mandate. Let's see what that equates to:
Everyone has to have health insurance. You would be in violation of the law if you don't have or refuse to get health insurance. That can and probably will result in a fine and where does that money end up at? Yup, you got it!
It also makes me wonder how they are going to check whether someone has got health coverage or not. Are we going to be stopped by the police and asked to show our health insurance cards? Are medical facilities going to refuse lending a healing hand and instead report the uninsured to the authorities?
Many people can not even afford the monthly cost of a car insurance; how would they then be able to afford health insurance? According to Obama that is not taxing on people. It just means in case they need medical help, they risk a fine. I can see how that might lead to lots of people going undercover.
So, as far as a tax increase goes; the president is right on the money and it sure is politically correct to utter the words: "I absolutely reject that notion," as the president said in the Sunday TV shows. I can't help but wonder......
Does he even have any notion at all???
