ABC: Dogsleds Provide Adventurous Mountain Tours

This sounds like fun and appeals to the adventurous side in most of us. It is not for the faint of heart though; there are lots of things that can go wrong.

First of all, you are totally relying on the dogs' stamina and endurance to get where you are supposed to go. That may not be very far if they get as sick as a dog or so dog-tired that they refuse to set one paw in front of the other.

Second, be prepared to be out in the cold the entire time, so dressing warm is a prerequisite. It will do you no good calling off the dogs when you are suffering from frostbite.

At least you will not need a good working ac compressor to keep you all nice and cool; you are already left out in the cold. It would be a different story if you would be touring the Sahara in the midst of summer.

Now that I come to think of it, these dog sledded mountain tours sound more and more like survival for the fittest to me. Just the anticipation of being out in the bitter cold the entire time sends shivers down my spine. Thanks, but no thanks!

I think I will take a chill pill.
