ABC: Recession Gobbles Up Thanksgiving Turkeys
I am almost positive no one saw that coming. To make matters worse; the price of turkey has gone up as well. The sad, but true result is that a lot of people have to go cold turkey this Thanksgiving, simply because they can't afford it.
It certainly is a turkey shoot for the poor and the homeless, because donations have practically dwindled to nothing. No wonder, everyone is scraping up every penny they can find and no turkey's nests and creases in couches are overlooked.
It may seem bad, but let's talk turkey for a moment: in case you are able to serve up turkey for Thanksgiving, then why not invite someone who is not so fortunate to dinner?
It would be the perfect opportunity to restore the somewhat forgotten concept of sharing!
