The Assignment

Contribution by Paula Gonzales

I couldn't believe when my boss told me I had to leave my glamorous, high profile position in the city to take a job in the Midwest. I wasn't exactly sure what to expect, but I knew I wasn't going to like it, whatever it was! I had grown up on a farm and knew the perils of rural life and wasn't exactly prepared to throw myself back into that world. I made my boss agree to give me CLEAR mobile broadband 4G so I would stay connected even while out in the middle of nowhere. I packed up all my things, leaving my fancy outfits and heels behind, and headed off to get a job done that I had never wanted to do in the first place. As it turns out, the Midwest really wasn't all that bad, and the people were way friendlier than they are back home! I'm kind of sad to leave here in a couple of weeks but I'm hoping to petition my boss to let me come out and visit the site again soon.
