CBS: Poll: Most Americans find hope after bad 2011

Yeah, we all may be looking forward to certain 'events', which will take place in the coming New Year, with the hope that some changes will occur and that this downward spiral our economy is in will be stopped dead in it tracks.

That will still take a little while and the outcome is unknown. For the same token, nothing changes and scraping by is getting even more difficult and eventually sheer impossible, because we won't have any nails left to scrape with.

Alas, there is always the hope of a nice windfall, but those chances are slim to nothing. Maybe the hope most Americans find in the coming year is geared towards hitting the jackpot and there is one about to find a new owner: CNN: Iowa lottery jackpot deadline nears, or at least we hope so.

The problem is though that there is only one lucky winner and the rest of us, who had their hopes up, will have to face disappointment again. Oh well, while there is life there is hope.

It would be very wise to hope for the best and prepare for the worst!
