Fox News: Cops Come to Collect Overdue Books From Girl
You have got to be kidding me! What person in their right mind sends the police over to a 5 year old, little girl's home, just because her library books are not returned on the due date?
I would suspect a written notice or a phone call to the parents, as a reminder, would have sufficed. My only guess is that the US postal services are no longer available in this city and/or the library's phone has been out of order.
I am aware of the fact that some may say it was due to a lack of consideration on the librarian's part, but you can't judge a book by its cover; I simply can't imagine someone being this inconsiderate. Then again, you never know these days.
One thing is for sure; that closed the books on this little girl. She will probably never set foot in a library again and it may have scared off a lot of others who were or are enjoying, or would have, reading a book the old-fashioned way.
Well done; that's one for the books!
