CBS: Power shortage puts Japan on energy diet
I am not really surprised; it was bound to happen sooner or later, although I had not expected this to occur in Japan first. We all are using so much energy already and that will only increase over time. The anticipation we will be next to experience a power shortage is a real possibility.
It is quite understandable why the government and power companies are pressing us so hard towards the use of Halogen Light Bulbs; they are lower in energy use and last longer as well. Both are very welcome, since they benefit our wallets and save us the time and effort of having to replace our light bulbs more often.
It would require the cooperation of all of us, but that shouldn't present a problem. There are Halogen Light Bulbs galore and for practically every application. Even though they may be a little more expensive at first, in the long run we will end up with savings on both our energy costs and our budget.
We certainly can ward off a power shortage and the aggravation and frustration, which without a doubt go hand in hand with that, by replacing our old, regular light bulbs by Halogen Light Bulbs.
That sure gives an entire new meaning to the expression: 'many hands make light work'!
