Yahoo!: Ouch! Insurers pay $479 mil for dog bites

I wonder how much they would pay for insect bites???

CNN: 4,700 asteroids a risk for Earth.
Those asteroids shouldn't really present a risk; we can give all those Comic-Con fans and attendees a laser gun and let them knock their selves out. They ought to be very accomplished at it, since they got lots of practice and get to live their dream as well, while our blue planet is being saved from possible danger.

It's like killing two birds with one stone, as long as that stone is not an asteroid!

MSNBC: Black market boom: Spaniards go underground to fight deepening recession.
Even though the expression goes 'out of sight, out of mind', I don't think vanishing from the face of the earth will do much good. They can dig as deep as they want and make their dwellings as fancy as possible, living underground is not going to pull their economy out of the slumps.

The only consequence I see happening is that eventually they will not know their head from a hole in the ground!

MSNBC: Coffee lovers lower death risk, study says.
I am getting weary of all those mixed signals; I read before that coffee is bad, because it raises our cholesterol levels, blood pressure, and can lead to all kinds of other health problems and now, all of a sudden it lowers the risk of death?

We better wake up and smell the coffee!
