MSNBC: Cop takes wrong turn, drives car up utility pole
I bet he didn't see that coming and neither did the utility pole. It is just another example of how accidents can happen to anyone, in the blink of an eye.
What puzzles me is how the cop could have taken a wrong turn. He obviously had no clue where he was going and must not have been in pursuit of a suspect; otherwise all he had to do was follow that particular car.
He may have been outside of his common route and ventured out in unknown territory. That by itself should have been reason enough not to put the pedal to the metal; you should anticipate having to come to a screeching halt quickly, since you never know what may cross your path and in this case it was a utility pole.
That kind of leaves me with another question: did the lights go out and if so, for whom? I don't think that cop will go anywhere fast soon.
He saw the light!
