THE NEW YORK TIMES: Room for Debate: What to Do When You Lose Your Job
Like it or not, one can not get around it anymore. The media is full of it, this morning. Both MSNBC and NEWSWEEK report: Workers clobbered by relentless layoffs. How sad. I hope the find a job real soon.
However, that seems to be a pipe dream. We are dealing with: FOX NEWS: Worst Job Loss 'in 60 Years' and it is not over yet: CBS: Unemployment Expected To Hit 7.9 Percent.
All good and well, but it still leaves the question open about what to do when you loose your job. Beats me. The options are slim to none. Even taking this advice: CNN: To find a job, ignore doom-and-gloom news might not work out.
What else is there to do? You can't go on strike. A better possibility to get hired, is ABC NEWS: WATCH: Lining Up for Employment at Job Fairs, in which case you better pack a lunch, because you may be in line with thousand others. Hopefully, you will be among the few chosen ones, to be hired.
Even though this is going to sound facetious, I assure you it is not. It is merely born out of frustration and compassion for the jobless. Sadly but true, it gives a whole new meaning to the phrase:
Employee of the month!
