Fox News: New Hampshire workers may face perfume ban
There is no law against smelling up the place, but there also is no law that forbids anyone wearing the fragrance of their preference and that is probably where the big rub is.
We all know the expression that one man's trash is another man's treasure. In this case one man's stench is another man's perfume and with so many different likes and dislikes, who decides what category a scent falls under?
In this case it would be the reaction of the public; sneezing, sniffling, and trouble breathing would indicate the fragrance needs to stay at home. I can understand that when it presents a health hazard, action needs to be in order, but that is easier said then done.
Sure, there are plenty of unscented soaps and deodorants available, but I have not come across any unscented aftershaves or perfumes. If there are any, then they sure defeat the purpose.
It may be a little easier for a man to do, but the women are faced with a tough choice. According to Coco Chanel, 'a woman who doesn't wear perfume has no future' and I don't think that is neither a very appealing idea, nor something to be looking forward to.
Maybe they ought to engage someone with a very sensitive nose and subject each worker to a 'smell-test'. At least you would have a fair chance to come out smelling like a rose!
