CNN: 'Who the heck is the watchdog?'
That is a good question and we usually find out when coming face to face with it which could end up or already resulted in a bad situation, because one thing you can be sure of is that not knowing the watchdog will always come back to bite you.
Sometimes it is best to let sleeping dogs lie and when being confronted with barking dogs, don't automatically assume that their bark is worse then their bite; you may be in for a very unpleasant surprise. After all, they are not assigned as watchdogs for their friendly qualities and dispositions.
It would also be wise to heed all the warning signs and not throw yourself to the dogs; there may not be anyone around to call them off and rescue you, or call you off to rescue the dog. Yeah, those 'Beware of the dog' signs can have several meanings.
They can either indicate that there is a four-legged pet walking around, watching you and is meaner then a junkyard dog, or alert you to watch where you place your feet and not step on it. Confusing? It sure is, since you never know what or who is meant by those beware-signs.
I would recommend you better look before you leap!
