ABC: Shrinking Products: Paying The Same for Less
I don't know why it took them so long to find that out. Most consumers already came to that conclusion when their pots and pans were not as full and the meals, snacks, and beverages didn't stretch as far as they used to.
At first, I thought it was all in my head when I opened a tub that normally would hold seven small containers for making our favorite beverage and I noticed there were only six in them. Okay, that's a fluke and it can happen. After several more of those 'flukes' I finally wised up.
Yeah, I was not happy about having to pay the same for less, but what can you do about it? I got rather outraged however, when those same tubs suddenly went from six containers to five and it didn't end there; after keeping an eye on other products it was the same story.
It sure explained why our grocery bill suddenly almost doubled. To feed the family, one box of stuffing or scalloped potatoes is no longer adequate to fill all the bellies. Cans may still be the same size, but the contents is smaller and it takes two to do the job of one, and the decreased snacks are gone in no time.
Yes, less is more. More money out of our pockets that is!
