CNN: Car goes airborne, crashes into roof

I think that is a first. At least I had never heard of a driver who took the invitation to 'drop in anytime' so literally. It is a miracle no one got hurt, but my suspicion is that the home-owners' enthusiasm didn't exactly go through the roof when the driver announced his arrival.

It is one of those things where you can only wonder what happened. It is already established that the speed with which the car-owner traveled, was way higher then was allowed and indicated on the traffic signs. Being in a hurry, he must have ignored those.

It may well be that he was paying more attention to something else, missed a turn, and decided to take a short cut. He would have gotten there without the suffered consequences had he simply followed the street signs. Those would have safely led him to his destination.

It is never a good thing to focus on something else other then all those posted notices, warnings, and directions by the side of the road. They are not just there for guidance, leadership, and to prevent chaos, but to ensure your health and security as well.

We still don't know for sure what was up with this wannabe pilot. For all we know, he may have had a little too much of an energy drink that gave him wings!
