CNN: A cure for gray hair?

Yes, the possibility exists that we may no longer have to contend with gray hair as we grow older. Don't get all excited now, because research is still in a very early stage, but the studies so far have shown some promising results.

From what I learned, gray hair occurs over time and that time is determined by our genes. The pigment cells in our hair follicles produce melanin which is responsible for the color, but more and more pigment cells die as we age and a decrease in melanin, or a total lack of it, means gray and white hair.

Rumors go that a shock or trauma can turn hair gray overnight. Personally, I don't believe in that phenomenon. Taking the almost past four and a half years in account, my hair should have turned white on numerous occasions, but it didn't. Maybe I am in a constant state of shock and haven't noticed it yet.

That leaves me with the following question though; what if those gray hairs that increasingly grow out of my scalp are not due to physical changes, but are a consequence of all the problems I encounter, have to deal with, and are being shoved down my throat on a daily basis?

It would be nice if they came up with a cure for those!
