CNN: Groundhog traps man in home

Uh oh, that doesn't sound good. I can't help but wonder how such a rather small animal can prevent a grown man from leaving his own home. What did it do? Warp the front door to where it got stuck? If so, there ought to be several windows left which could function as an escape route.

After stumbling across this headline, I got the distinct impression the ground hog was trying to tell the guy something. Maybe it saw its own shadow and figured winter was right around the corner. That would be a day late and a dollar short, seeing how many of us are already confronted with Old Man Winter's wrath.

For the man in question we can only hope he has a smart phone and displays at least one of the CNN: 10 signs you're a smartphone addict. That being the case, he would be able to get in touch with the outside world and ask for a helping hand or two to release him from his prison.

I would not suggest he puts a call in to his parents. It could well be the ground hog is there to keep an eye on him ensuring their instructions are carried out to the letter and he gets to hear the obvious.

You are grounded!
