ABC: Is Your Pooch Protected?
From what?
Fleas, ticks, rabies, heartworm and whatever may ail it?
I think we are already obligated to take care of some of that. It has been decided to be our responsibility. We need to see to at least a rabies shot, in order to protect both the dog and ourselves.
What else?
Violence, poor living conditions, malnutrition and other forms of abuse?
We better make sure to protect our dog from that. We would not want PETA breaking down our door. I suspect, that most dog-owners already see to the welfare of their best friend.
What's next on the list?
Microchips, ear tags and ear-tattoos?
Yeah, if we want to track down our pooch, in case it gets stolen, or lost. We sure would want to get it back safe and sound. Just the thought of it ending up at the pound, sends shivers down our spine.
We do a lot of things to protect our dogs/pets. We see to their health, their welfare and their every need. We give them a home, our love and care. Then I read this: FOX NEWS: Study: 1 in 50 U.S. Children Is Homeless and I can not help, but feel sick, become sarcastic and cynical.
Yeah, let's talk about a dog's life!
