CNN: iReport.com: Make the ultimate brown bag lunch
That definitely is a lot cheaper. It also gives several options and choices.
To start with that last, there are so many choices in bread and buns, it would never get boring. You could even use pita bread, or soft taco shells. It will satisfy the craved variety in taste.
The options may be a bit more limited, although there are a few. A plain brown bag by itself may not be too tasty, but it will be slightly crunchy. One can marinade it, which will give it a whole different taste and mushy texture. That might be easier to chew and swallow.
Grilling the bag is another option. It will be more crisp and gives a good crunch. Be careful not to burn it though. These are several options that entered my mind. Maybe you can come up with some other ones yourself.
Of course, all hinges on what else you put on your bread, besides the brown bag. Bacon, lettuce, tomato, egg, cheese, onions, all seem good to me. For the sweet tooth, one can even use preserves, peanut butter, or honey.
Yeah, a simple brown bag on your sandwich, can make the ultimate lunch. I have not tried it yet. I am a little apprehensive. I may overcome my apprehension and give it a go. At least it provides the so needed supplement, which everyone is trying to ad to their daily intake.
Lots and lots of fiber!
