Important Safety Tips For Summer

The summer can be a very dangerous time for both young people and adults. Children are out of school, the sun sets later, and the weather is warmer. Here are some tips on how to stay safe during the summer months.

Sun Safety: It is very important to keep children and adults safe in the sun. Us at least a 30 SPF sunscreen while in the sun for longer than fifteen minutes to a half hour. Skin cancer can start to occur after that. Wearing shorts over swimsuits, hats, and visors can help to deflect the sun’s rays. Always reapply sunscreen whenever you get out of the water.

Water Safety: Pool alarms are great to have and warn parents when children get into the pool. Children should wear floatation devices if they are not strong swimmers. The pool should be enclosed with a fence to ensure that children are not going into the pool unsupervised.

Home Safety: It may be a good idea to have an adt Home Securityalarm installed around your home. During the summer months, more robberies and acts of vandalism occur because teens are out of school and the weather is very good. Always make sure that windows are secured and lock, used fans and air conditioners to stay cool at night. Always make sure to install light timers if you are going vacation. Always tell your neighbors and have your mail stopped. Many thieves watch homes nightly to look for vulnerable homes. Always think like a potential thief and you will be able to keep your home secure.
