MSNBC: Calif. thieves ditch TV too big for getaway car

I find that a great example of the fact that greed never pays off. In this case, the thieves bit off more then they could chew. Let me correct that; their eyes were bigger then their car.

It is quite clear they were not well prepared for what they set out to do. If they were, they would probably have stolen a bigger car first. My suspicion is that already would have put the heat on them, which they were desperately trying to avoid.

They did not succeed; trying to squeeze the TV in the car, concluding it didn't fit and then having to leave the TV by the wayside drew more attention then they had wanted. I would not be surprised if the thieves are turned into believers:
