Yahoo!: Town celebrates 15 years under cat mayor
The residents of Talkeetna in Alaska finally let the cat out of the bag. They actually already did that 15 years ago and put him in the highest position where their small town is concerned; they took him straight from the plain paper bag into the major's leather chair and luxurious office.
Why it took them so long to share this with the rest of the world is anyone's guess. I suspect they anticipated a lot of mail coming the mayor's way pertaining to his position and job performance and had no way of receiving it until they found a wall mount mailbox worthy of Mayor Stubbs.
There is no doubt in my mind the mayor was very pleased when they presented him with their choice of mailbox and is now walking around like the cat that got the cream. He probably did by getting the cream of the crop and I can picture how great a bronze wall mount mailbox would look next to the entrance of his work place.
This is all speculation on my part of course, but I do think they should consider getting their Feline mayor a lockable mailbox wall mount. This would prevent a lot of problems, because you know what they say: when the cat is away, the mice will play!
