ABC: Rising Riches: 1 in 5 in US Reaches Affluence
That means there is a 20% chance we might strike it rich. The funny thing is that I don't even know anyone who enjoys the perks of being opulent, which makes me question if these statistics are correct.
According to the headline, I ought to find at least one person in our family or circle of friends who reached affluence, but I don't. I can only assume we belong to the remaining group of the 80% who just will never experience what it feels like to roll around in a lot of dough, unless it is cookie dough.
The sport fans among you sure struck it rich where sensational moments are concerned. If one Yahoo!: Miraculous play thwarted by one measly inch wasn't enough then another miraculous play thwarted by one measly second sure was.
I don't think Nick Saban likes to hear if he has got a second, and the Steelers hate to be asked to inch over. Well, what can we say? Some bubbles simply got busted. That's the way the cookie crumbles.
Speaking of busting bubbles; have you noticed lately CNN: How the American Dream got downsized? I find this rather mildly put and it almost prompts me to pose the question: 'What American Dream'?
As I mentioned a while back, it is starting to look more and more like an American Nightmare!
