The Epoch Times: Mammoth Clone a Possible Reality in Four Years
I couldn't help but shudder due to the deja vu I got, when I read that the Japanese are ready to reproduce a woolly mammoth which has been extinct for thousands and thousands of years.
They intend to use DNA taken from tissue samples from a specimen which was discovered earlier, replace the contents of a fertilized egg with this material and use a donor mommy (in this case an African elephant) to complete the pregnancy.
I suppose, even though it takes four years to bring this endeavor to completion, soon the earth once more will tremble under the footsteps of massive animals and I sincerely doubt it will start and end with the woolly mammoth!
One thing leads to another and we all know what that results in, don't we? Sure we do! All we have to think of is the movie:
Jurassic Park!
